KYWC March 2017 News

Hello Friends,

We are excited to announce a new chair yoga class with Barb (see details below) and a special upcoming event.

Mandala Workshop

Design & paint your own personal mandala. This class is taught by award winning artist and yoga instructor Christine Tisa. A variety of templates and art mediums will be available. No prior drawing skills required.

Date and time: Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 9:30am-5:00pm

Cost: $60.00/All supplies included.

Register and prepay with paypal here  or at the center by March 31st.
Checks and cash accepted.

Class size is limited to 20 participants.

Yoga Schedule

Tuesday 9-10:30 AM Yoga with Barb 315-778-8141

Practice gently yoga breathing and meditation with guided relaxation, a great stress reliever. This class is open to all levels from beginners to experienced.

Tuesday Morning 11-12:30 PM Chair Yoga with Barb 315-778-8141

Experience all the benefits of yoga from a chair, including breath work, postures, meditation and restorative elements. Most of the postures will be done from a seated position with a few standing using the chair for balance. Chair yoga practice will improve strength, flexibility, mindfulness and an overall sense of well being. We all need to keep moving – this is a safe way to move and practice yoga.

Tai Chi classes coming soon!

Tai chi is a Chinese exercise that uses slow, smooth body movements to achieve a state of relaxation of both body and mind.

Mandala Workshop:

This class incorporates many poses done on the floor, and the use of props, such as bolsters, blankets allow the body to settle and the muscles to relax and open in a gently way.

Winter is in full swing in the North Country and so are yoga classes and other events at KYWC.

Monthly Events

The Drumming Circle is scheduled for Friday, Jan.13th (only good luck here!) at 7pm.

This month’s Wellness Connection, usually called “Healing Sunday” will be held on January 15th from 2-5pm. Come enjoy a relaxing session with our experienced volunteer healers. They will help you soothe away holiday and winter stress and rebalance yourself.

Hello KYWC Friends,

What a beautiful, colorful fall we have had. Do take advantage of upcoming pleasant days to walk the trail and the labyrinth.

Natural Skin Care and Non-Toxic Cleaning Products Class – Saturday, Nov 12th from 12-3pm.

Learn to make bar soap, all purpose cleaning spray, liquid laundry detergent, face scrub, body scrub and lip balm. Take home samples and recipes.

Kripalu October News

Autumn is ushering lots of positive, exciting change at the Kripalu Yoga and Wellness Center.

We have an updated Facebook page, a new user-friendly website (with a new name to match!) and upcoming classes and events to help you relax, heal and build relationships with like-minded friends.

Web Updates

Our site and Facebook page have gotten makeovers and new names. If you haven’t visited in a while, check them out!

  • Our new domain name/url is  nnykripalu.org. For the next few months, both the old and new urls will work and redirect to the original address.
  • Upcoming events and classes are easy to find on the right sidebar of the site and on the clickable calendar located on the Classes and Events page.  Click on the event to read the details.

October Yoga Schedule

Have you been to a yoga class lately? Come relax and renew during one or more of our weekly yoga classes taught by our four experienced teachers. Classes are scheduled during day and evening hours  from Monday-Thursday.

Vision Quest for KYWC

Tuesday, September 13th at 5:00-9:00 at the Yoga Center

Kathleen Barnes, a founding member of KYC, will be coming from Brevard, N.C. to lead us on a creative journey in visioning the future of our center. Come prepared to share your ideas for the development and vision of KYWC. Be creative and think about all of the possibilities that you envision for the growth of our center.

Dinner will be “Stone Soup” and Salad. The soup broth and greens will be provided. Please bring prepared veggies to add into the soup and salad. Or choose to bring a dessert to share.
