In the spring of 2023, KYWC installed a community garden at the teepee site along the trail.
This project was made possible thanks to a grant from the Walmart Foundation, donations from several local businesses, and donations by individuals. The project was led by KYWC volunteer Michelle Gaeta, who did a fabulous job coordinating everyone and everything. She sure made a lot of phone calls!
The raised beds were installed and planted by KYWC volunteers and volunteers from the Watertown Walmart-State Route 3. We planted seeds and transplants grown by the team at DOCC-Cape Vincent.
This truly has been a community project.
