Happy (almost) Springtime. We are looking forward to an awesome spring and summer season with you. To make that happen, we are busy planning outdoor seating upgrades, the community garden, and workshops/events that support your well-being in mind, body, and spirit. To help us offer what you want, would you do us a favor?
We need to hear from you!
Which classes, events, and workshops would you like us to offer at KYWC? Would you like to volunteer on a committee or at events, or teach classes or a workshop? Let us know!
Please fill out this brief online survey or print the form below and drop it off at the Center. Many thanks 🙂
Thanks to everyone who joined or renewed your membership last month. Your input, contribution, and fellowship at KYWC are important to us. The Center could not fulfill its mission without you.
Read about member benefits and download your membership form and interest survey here.
Please complete both forms and bring/mail them to the Center with your check or money order. Cash is also accepted at the Center. Thank you much 🙂
Reminder: Val and Steve are gifting two members an oracle card reading ($50 value) to two new or renewing members. To be chosen, we must receive your completed membership form, interest survey, and dues by March 31st, 2023. Recipients will be picked randomly and notified during the first week of April. Adults only.
Upcoming Classes and Events
Here is the March schedule of classes and events. Reminder: when South Jeff school district closes for the day or cancels after-school activities, KYWC activities are also canceled for your safety.
Drumming and Meditation Circle
Did you know that in addition to being fun, drumming with others has several benefits? Research shows that drumming reduces stress and pain, stimulates self-expression, boosts the immune system, and increases feelings of well-being. Drumming is a great workout for your whole brain because it generates new neuronal connections and synchronizes the left and right hemispheres. When the hemispheres pulsate together, your intuition becomes stronger and you become more insightful and self-aware.
Drumming also appears to synchronize the lower areas of the brain (non-verbal) with the frontal cortex (language and reasoning). This integration produces feelings of insight and certainty. (Source: 10 Health Reasons to Start Drumming)
Bring your own drum and rattles or borrow one of ours.
